| Fixing an Orbit ADB trackball |
Posted by: joshc on 2022-08-31 03:51:33 I found a cheap Orbit ADB trackball but it's seen better days. I want to repair it so it at least functions OK.
The rubber rollers (is that what they're called?) are perished - where can replacements be found?

Posted by: beachycove on 2022-08-31 04:14:21 Take some measurements with a calliper. I don’t know if rubber hose can be had in that small a size, but if it can, rubber hose slipped over and glued to the axles might work. |
Posted by: Phipli on 2022-08-31 04:32:52 Would lego pneumatic hose fit? Probably too soft.
Edit : Ignore me, it would be way too soft. |
Posted by: joshc on 2022-08-31 19:09:23 I will have to measure it but maybe something like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130740225601 will work? |
Posted by: Chopsticks on 2022-08-31 19:30:13 @joshc if you can get the exact size you need you can stretch tubing by heating it up (helpful if inner circle is too small.
failing that In the past ive also used a 3D printer to print flexible filament like TPU, its worked well for me in the past fwiw |

I will have to measure it but maybe something like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130740225601 will work? Too soft again I think. Perhaps something more like car window washer tube? (But smaller). |
