Accessing the Internet

Using the oldnet wifi modem and freepp, I can establish a connection via shared web on my modern mac.

But when I try to access www.frogfind.com, her’s what I get.

Does anybody know where I screw up?

thanks in advance

Are you able to ping external IP addresses directly? Also, what are your DNS settings? I'm not familiar with FreePP but that's where I'd check first.

Can’t ping anything with macTCP Ping.

DNS in Mac TCP is the adress of my router (192.168.1.1)

Try 1.1.1.1 and/or 8.8.8.8

Oh, never mind, if you aren’t able to ping anything anyways that won’t work.

It sounds like the issue is likely with your PPP configuration, or with the wifi modem. Have you been able to use the wifi modem to dial BBSes and such?

Unfortunately I haven’t used PPP before so I won’t be any help there.

Accessing bbs and even my own website works perfectly in Mac Terminal.

bur when I want to use claris e-mailer or netscape (even when connection is established), it doesn’t work.

I guess I’ll write to the people at oldnet.

thanks for taking the time
