Posted by: imactheknife on 2022-07-20 11:59:39 Ok, so no change.. is my ram bad, rom?? I bought it last week. I started it up before purchase. It gave a vertica line screen. It pressed reset and she booted. Brought it home and immediately cleaned board with isopropyl. Decided next day to take pads off and recap, wash again. Let dry, then try it out. So far, same nasty lines. Any ideas?? Or should it to branchus creations lol.. the radial cap is all i had for a 470 so will leave for now, not permanent. |
Posted by: dochilli on 2022-07-21 09:30:11 Do you hear a chime? If not it could be a problem with the ROM. Clean and reseat the ROM. I would do the same with the RAM. Do you have 8MB?
Did you measure the voltages at the floppy port? Should be 5 and 12 V. |
Posted by: imactheknife on 2022-07-26 17:45:14 Voltages are good, rom, memory and entire board cleaned. She does boot, confirmed tonight with internal and external scsi. Still no sound, and has that nasty screen until mouser pointer shows up. Any ideas how to get rid of that screen vertical line yuck. Would love sound back too. |

Still no sound Check all the traces in the sound circuit. They can be broken and check traces to/from the Apple Sound Chip.

Posted by: imactheknife on 2022-07-29 20:17:48 sound works now I checked all traced and they were good, . but I still get vertical line screen for 4-5 seconds then chime and normal screen. Proceeds to boot. |
Posted by: imactheknife on 2022-08-03 20:11:46 All ram slots work, scsi chip works, boots from internal and external. Is this a possible rom issue? How can I get it to chime and work normal when switch is turned on. Right now it is almost 10 seconds before she goes to normal screen and boots and works normal. |
