Have no idea what’s going on with my CRT I suspect caps but that can’t be the only issue, can it?

I want to say you've got to degauss that monitor. There might be a button on it, but it looks bad so you might have to actually externally degauss it.

Ah so how would I go about that.

If there's a button then you press it

If not you need an external degausser, which I have no experience with.

Someone else said it might be the yoke

Did this happen all of a sudden or gradually go rainbow slowly over time? Try relocating your monitor, to rule out any unshielded magnetic field nearby. Monitor degaussers can go bad, maybe open it up and reseat all cables, degaussing harness, yoke connector. Degaussing wands are available if not.

This was all of a sudden going to try reseating everything now.

Ok so update and I'm the fool issue still persists but I do recall I was using my magnetic screwdriver near this and must've set it beside it while it was off, so what's a good fix for this?

I'm fairly sure this monitor is auto degaussing (do you hear a "donk" or "thunk" sound when turning it on?), perhaps try cycling power to the CRT to see if that slowly resolves. If not, you can disconnect the degaussing wire and manually degauss the monitor using a degaussing wand. Keep in mind though you need to develop a technique to degauss; "like spinning fairy floss" is the best way to describe that 🙂

Well here's the thing the power switch is permanently on so when I use it I plug it in or unplug it I hate to say it but its held on with solder and I don't trust it because the original switch went bad so I had to hunt down this compatible switch from Australia, could this happen to cause some of my issues? I don't hear a noise just the static noise of a CRT starting up, I can take photos of the inside if that helps?

I'd say it is, but I don't understand enough about CRT power/degaussing cycles if this monitor is set to always power on. I'd replace the switch maybe something from an AT power supply would suit.

Well the problem is the original switch is the same as the switch that's in it minus a bracket which is soldered in and cut from the old switch.
