I obtained a iBook G4 14" - mid 2005, and the screen is slightly dark, even at it's brightest. Do I need to replace the panel or is the backlight separate in a unit this old. Also, might as well ask, is there an adapter, or series of adapters to go from what ever connector is used for this panel to eDP for a modern panel? | Posted by: Byrd on 2022-07-09 00:03:14
You can replace the CFL backlighting with same or LED conversion, however this requires some trial and error to get it just right - it's not a quick swap. Keep in mind LCD panels of this era are much dimmer compared to modern LCDs. Switching in a modern LCD isn't really feasible. | | 1 |
