| Looking for replacement NPN transistor for Apple CRT monitor |

My Apple CRT monitor M1212 is dead with a suspected shorted NPN transistor (Motorola MJF16206). I'm trying to find a replacement but to no avail. Does anyone know what model of NPN Transistor is compatible w/ Motorola MJF16206 that I can buy from the market? According to its PDF, it's a NPN Bipolar Power Deflection Transistor specifically designed to use in CRTs. |

as long as you replace it with another NPN bipolar Power Transistor that meats or exceeds the original part specifications, you should be fine to 'up-rate' with a modern part. as mentioned above refer to the Datasheet to confirm not only the pinouts but also that Vces, Vebo, and hFE are similar (probably forgetting a couple other important characteristics but normally those are the most important).
Perhaps if you find a replacement part that you think will work you can post the part number and myself or someone else can check to see if it is useable as a part subsitutiion |
