if you have a tobi-card and use a TFT please let me know what TFT it is and what adapter-settings (DB15->VGA) you are using. thx!
I checks about 20 different TFT Monitors and only the Benq BL702a worked, all others did not.
Thx
Doc | Posted by: skeptechsguide on 2022-06-12 19:35:47 Hi Doc, does your Tobi card have the memory expansion? If so then it can do 640x480 67Hz @256 Colors. That's a standard sync that most modern monitors will do (VGA clock + 6.66KHz). That "emulates" the Macintosh 13" "High Resolution Monitor"
the DIP settings on different 15 pin Mac to VGA are.... different, so either check the label for Mac 13", 640x480x67Hz... or VGA... If you don't have the upgrade then things get tricky. You might need a scan converter. The smaller standard resolution is 512x384@60Hz
FWIW see attached for a pic of my Tobi with expanded RAM. The chips are 8x NEC D41264C-120 video DRAM chips. There are some on sale on eBay right now. | Posted by: dr.zeissler on 2022-06-12 22:03:10 Mine supports 640x480 256colors, so I think it's already updated (but I have to check this).
Please check this, my card syncs to 640x480 67hz, but only on that BL702A, every other TFT fails. I already used the dip-switch at this setting on every monitor. As I said, only BL702A works and therefore it ignores every setting on the dip-switch...it simply works.
But I have to admit that I see "fuzzeling lines" when acessing the SCSI-Bus (loading software). It's visible on dark/black backgrounds. Don't know if that's an issue with the toby or with the macII itself. | | 1 |
