| Macintosh 128K "Thin Mac" |

Hello,
I picked this up today. I got this Macintosh 128K with external 400K floppy and The guy who sold me this also threw in a 2009 iMac 20" . I was very dirty I had to take the entire computer apart and wash it. Both floppy drives were stuck from old grease. The logic board had two axial electrolytic capacitors that were showing signs of leaking. I happened to have a cap kit with axial sold tantalum capacitors on hand so I changed them out. I know this isn't the more sought after "Macintosh" 128k. But did I do ok spending $240? |

Yeah absolutely and most 128k's are 512k anyways so nice find. |

A working 128k with keyboard, mouse, and external drive, plus a bonus 2009 iMac for $240? Seems pretty reasonable to me. |

I personally had never seen that "Macintosh 128k" label before in my life, so I think it's pretty cool! totally worth it. |

Awesome deal, especially with the peripherals! God forbid I know people would pay good money just to harvest the switches from the keyboard... /shudders |

Nice they took out the battery, but too bad they didn't replace the door. It's a terrific find and is well worth the money you spent. Those original 400K drives are nice to have (and getting harder to find) and as has already been pointed out, getting all the peripherals is a great deal. Was there any story with it? Was he the original owner? |

Yeah, that's a very decent price, especially with the bonus peripherals and iMac.
It also has Motorola RAM in it, which is rather less likely to self-destruct than the Micron stuff, which is also a good thing.
Don't get too caught up on the theoretical desirability of it relative to the earlier revision: you paid a good price, if you like it, you've done well. |

Was he the original owner? I actually have the battery door. I took it off to clean and just forgot to put it back in. It wasn’t the original owner but I do know it was originally owned by Dartmouth college. Still has a label on the external drive. |
