| Classic II no sound….solved |
Posted by: bibilit on 2022-05-01 08:29:30 I had a spare Classic II, new caps around, worked but had no sound.
At some point, removed the DFAC for a test, but was not able to found the issue.
I was trying to troubleshoot an Analog Board, using this unit.
When the logic board was upside down, noticed a dark area in one trace…which was broken.
Trace was going from the DFAC to a capacitor !!
A small wire… and sound is back. |

Nice, thanks for saving me some time! |
Posted by: cgp on 2025-04-08 09:31:38 That C4/5/8/9 combo reeks all sorts of havoc. I’ve recently restored a Classic II and both serial ports didn’t work due to broken traces and blown vias in this area. |
Posted by: smrieck511 on 2025-05-19 23:36:06 Anyone know the specifics of C4? I managed to lift one pad (C4 +). There's a trace going from (what was) that pad to a chip labeled 34119 025 (which I bodged)...But there's also a trace on the opposite side of that pad leading to two vias....No clue how to bodge that as I don't know where the vias are going. Thanks for any help. |
