Help with Keyboard cable for M0110A keyboard
Posted by: mloret on 2022-04-22 17:17:59
Hello! I just received a M0110A keyboard I ordered from eBay to use with my rehabilitated Fat Mac 512k. The good news is that the keyboard works. The bad news is that the cable doesn't. The keyboard works with a cable that I already had in stock but not with the one that came with it. Weird huh? Do these things go bad? It's hard to tell, but it looks like both ends have a little corrosion. Maybe that's the problem? Could it be a compatibility issue?

If this thing is toast, doesn't anyone have one they could stand to part with?

per Larry Pina I inspected the cable. It does appear to be a Mac cable, not a phone cable.

UPDATE: scraped some of the corrosion off and still nothing.

Do you have a multi meter to check resistance pin to pin?

Probably a broken wire in one of the connectors.
With the right tool a phone cable can be modified to suit.

My original cable stoped working as well. looks like some cable is cut.

If you are in EU, this guy is selling replacements and they are working fine: https://www.ebay.com/itm/334073744472

Otherwise yes, you need to mod a phone cable as @bibilit said

I might actually have some extra RJ11s, not sure. Maybe I'll have a look. I know I have my crimper still.
