| Quirky Q700 power switch |
Posted by: tnova on 2022-04-04 08:49:07 Rear power button was working just fine on a Q700 until I used front interrupt/reset switches. Now the system won't power off using the rear switch when "it is now safe to turn off your Macintosh" appears. Also, I thought these systems power down automatically rather than prompt its safe to switch off... The case power button works just fine as does the keyboard soft power switch for start up. I think a component on the logic board must have shorted or fried when I used the front switches so now it ignores power off via switch. I installed Macsbug and interrupt switch functions as intended. The reset switch does not. So likely some issue going on with the reset switch and/or power circuitry. Any known issues on the IIci/Q700? |

Also, make sure the power button on the back isn't turned in so it stays on. |

So I am thinking its something to do with the traces in this area of the board. |
