| Voice synthetizer on Apple II |
Posted by: bibilit on 2022-03-27 03:59:15 Among the cards in my collection, i have a french card known as « Porte Parole »
Never had a try before, yesterday while having a complete setup, plugged the card and speaker.
The software is able to translate any keyboard input to a spoken output.
The result is pretty good for the era. |

probably the same kind of card was available elsewhere. |
Posted by: stepleton on 2022-03-27 09:36:14 I used to have such a card many years ago. I think it used the same chip that was in a Speak & Spell. It came with some programming utilities that let your BASIC program talk, provided you stuck with a fairly limited (English) vocabulary. |
