| Sonnet G3 233mhz accelerator and PM 6100 with HPV |
Posted by: FacnyFreddy on 2022-03-14 08:19:09 So, I scored a 233mhz g3 PDS accelerator off of ebay, and it works.
This weekend I was testing this out with Mac OS 7.6.1 to see if there were issue.
I see that the extention is disabled if I plug my HPV card into the slot.
Does anyone know of a "hack" or way to force-enable it? I know that later/newer versions had this working |

do you have the correct metal frame to support the HPV card or is it resting all its weight on the G3? If the G3 card is carrying all the weight it may not have a good connection on the logic board and is disabling. Also, try cleaning all the contacts on both cards and both connectors. |

See this page for a diagram if you scroll down.
I think you will want part number 922-0768.
From last page of PDF https://tim.id.au/laptops/apple/legacy/powermac_6100_series.pdf
The frame is also used with the HPV card and AV card. PC Card and NuBus card use a similar part… not sure if interchangeable. |

From last page of PDF Thanks! I have seen another 6100 with a metal "plate" over what I presume is the HPV card, but definitely couldn't make out any part number. Cheers for that! |
