| Laserwriter II AC Power Supply |
Posted by: retro_bill on 2022-03-01 12:07:39 Just got a new Laserwriter II AC power supply.
Did apple make changes to the power supply once they noticed so many failures?
I ask because if you look at my replacement power supply you can see the is a small circuit board missing and I want to confirm the new power supply should have the board missing.
Here are pics of the original and new power supply.
Thanks

EDIT: Actually, it is not a small board, it is part of the supply. I forgot I took the board out of mine to clean and recap it. My original would have had that extension. It is very possible they made revisions, as that is the board that had the failures. Is there a board under that silvery metal plate? If so, you are good to go. |
Posted by: retro_bill on 2022-03-01 12:40:42 it has the circuit board that plugs into the printers motherbard |

Posted by: ScutBoy on 2023-01-07 16:12:55 These are part numbers for power supplies that will work in the II series - at least they did for me. Since the same supply was used in HP Laserjets they are not hard to find on the 'bay, etc.
Once you get the power supply sorted out, then you can start to find out what rollers, guides, etc. have either turned to goo or dried up, and replace accordingly! 🙂
