| iMac G3 not starting | |
| Posted by: Coloruser on 2022-02-09 12:16:02 Got an Indigo iMac G3 - 350 from a garage sale for free. The unit looks visually ok but it does not start up or even make a startup chime. If i press the power button, all i can hear is a click from the speakers and that‘s it. I followed the standard procedure and opened the unit up, removed the ram and the pram battery. Plus pressed the cuda switch. No change. Made a short video to illustrate the „click“ sound. Maybe it is the PSU? has anyone any idea? It would be too bad to throw the iMac away - from outside it is really still pretty. 😀 View attachment IMG_1131.MOV  | |

| Posted by: 3lectr1cPPC on 2022-02-10 10:58:37 The slot loader iMac G3s have the processor soldered, not on a card like the tray loaders. I’d guess an analog/power supply problem but I’m not super knowledgeable on that. Check voltages maybe? | |

This sounds crazy, but it's worked for several people, including me, for iMac G3 slotloaders with this behavior.
