1400/other PB screens - scratches?
Posted by: LaPorta on 2022-01-22 19:48:31
Is there any way to replace the matte coating over the LCD when disassembled if it has scratches in it?

Yes I’m about to do it on some 2400s it’s not super fun though. I’ll report back how it goes I’ve been testing on a broken screen and it’s not my favorite repair so far on a PowerBook…

If you have a thread, let me know. Only reason is I got a used replacement screen for mine and it has a bit of a scratch...and I haven't the slightest idea how to get that film off.

I haven’t made a thread about it, with much detail yet so far details are sparse you can find some info if you look on YouTube. But replacing lcd polarizing film seems to be not super well documented. So I’m experimenting more than I’m following any sort tutorial. But I do have a thread here I started but it’s not super informational just yet. https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/powerbook-2400-polarizing-film-angle.39820/

I have the film and I plan to attempt and install soon even though I think I ended up with glossy film instead of matte.
