Macintosh SE - Lapis Display Server driver
Posted by: gijsmans on 2022-01-22 02:58:38
I have a Macintosh Se with a Lapis Display Server video card. I have borrowed an Apple Portrait Display from a friend. Only thing missing is the correct driver for the Lapis Display Server card. I found it at https://vintageapple.org/macdrivers/video.shtml but the .sit file seems corrupted when I try to extract it. Macintoshgarden has a download containing many Lapis drivers but not the specific one I need.

How can help me with obtaining the Macintosh SE - Lapis Display Server driver? It is the Portrait version, not the Two Page version.

Thanks!

ps. photo taken before cleaning 🙂

Are you referring to DisplayServer.sit?

It almost seems intact, but something has gone wrong in many of the bytes...

...however it seems things have gone wrong in a specific pattern, which makes me think maybe it can be recovered. I'll stare at it for a bit.

Did you see my reply here in your other thread? https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/macintosh-se-with-lapis-displayserver-card.39926/

Also worth trying the Mobius driver as it should work.

I have a similar board and the Mobius driver did not work. @SuperSVGA did you happen to have any ideas about recovering that archive?

In the stack of NewLife disks I also found some drivers from Novy and MicroMac. The MicroMac driver is for the MicroMac SE 1.0 1990-08-16 copyright Lapis Technologies Inc.
