| Death chimes - any guide? |

Hi guys,
I have a pb 190 which when turned on does the regular Apple 'good' boot chime, then after a little while (I think after it counts the ram because the time changes depending on whether I have the extra ram installed or not) it does a very slow death chimes, reaaallly slowely. No screen output at all.
Any suggestions on possible faults? Thanks |

I would try to remove the hard drive. I’ve had a bad boot partition cause a death chime, but I still got a display so there might be move than one issue if the hard drive is the cause of the death chime. |

This may sound cliché, but have you recapped the logic board? Doing so resolved boot issues on my 190cs... |
