Quadra 605 speed bump
Posted by: Macdrone on 2016-04-10 08:19:25
This can go in either LC or Quadra as the 605 is exactly the same as the LC4XX motherboard.  Put in a full 040, moved 2 resistors to bump it to 33 mhz.  Put in 32 megs of ram for 36 total. Nice and speedy.

I just went with the true 040 and the memory increase - I have been happy with that, but a little clock increase might be nice. I will have to take another look at it and maybe switch the two resistors too.

Its super easy , all 4 spots are next to each other.

Don't forget that those machines take 128 meg SIMMs without any fuss.

Does this board have a ROM socket normally?

the 40 mhz performa is better.  IDE hard disk out of a powermac so its 2 gig apple drive, full fpu and now 136 megs is sweet.  7.5.5 it may be my new bridge mac.
