Macintosh 128 Analog Board swap
Posted by: bibilit on 2016-04-09 23:58:29
I will like to know if i can swap Analog boards from a Plus to a Macintosh 128.

the 128 is 110 volt and there is no way to convert it to 220 apparently, so thinking to swap from a working 220 volt Plus board (not mine, il will have kept the original board)

Yes should be a direct swap.  The plus was a 128, 512 upgrade with motherboard and bucket.

Ok, thanks.

Yep, you can't convert traditional 110V ABs to 220V but IIRC you can convert the 220V version to 110V easily.

As MacDrone said, yes it is entirely possible to swap ABs between early Mac Models. But you will have to adjust the CRT.

Congrats on the 128k BTW  🙂

I hope the RAM on yours is good! The AB from mine worked but not the LB... Apple fitted bad RAM chips on the 128k and IIc. As a result it's now at Uni's house for a Re-RAM.

I swapped the boards yesterday, all fine.

The Ram was bad, but the 128 is not mine, was returned to the owner.

yep no problem,  universal plus ab can be installed in the 128k, the only problem is to the right collector, this could be a personal problem.

and yep that 128k apple logo'd ram is just so crap.   in a few days i will have badgoldeagle's ram change complete!
