(side note: I absolutely, unequivocally love the RaSCSI product, and heartily recommend it. I was able to set up a Classic II to boot off of it, use it for Ethernet emulation, decide I wanted to use my Mystic instead, and repeat the entire process within three or four hours. Perfection. My heartfelt thanks to all involved.)
It is useful to have the AFP share automounted on boot on the Mystic, but it is annoying to type the password every time to secure a connection that is less than three feet long. The OS saves the username for the share. Is it possible to save the password also? | Posted by: aladds on 2021-11-28 13:48:06 I think the PowerTalk Keychain can do this? It probably wouldn’t work in 7.6, mind you, since PowerTalk was unsupported after 7.5.5, but it did save passwords.
There is of course a chance that if you copy it (and its various extensions and plugins) from a copy of 7.5.5 with PowerTalk installed it might work, since it’s at least somewhat standalone.
Your other option of course is to disable the password entirely! | Posted by: robin-fo on 2021-11-28 14:32:01 I believe you can allow password saving by changing your netatalk configuration on the RaSCSI. Check /etc/netatalk/afpd.conf and remove -nosavepasswd (or cange it to -savepassword) in the last line. I didn't check it, but I hope it works... | Posted by: kerobaros on 2021-11-28 22:44:08

I didn't check it, but I hope it works... I would never have thought to look there! Wonderful. I'm at work now, but I ssh'ed back home and changed that flag from -nosavepasswd to -savepasswd and restarted netatalk, and I'll try it when I get back to the house. Thanks! | Posted by: kerobaros on 2021-11-29 08:55:03
