| LC Crystal Oscillator - UK/Europe |
Posted by: axmandm on 2021-11-08 16:14:39 Hello!
I recently picked up an LC, and unfortunately, there is serious corrosion on the board becasue of a leaking battery.
I have cleaned this up as best I can, but some components are in need of replacement. Aside from the caps, I specifically need to replace the 31.3344 Mhz crystal. This looked to be completely destroyed.
I have had no joy whatsoever finding one of these online, save for from the US, with naturally high postage/shipping fees to the UK.
Does anyone have any idea where I could source one of these? |

Looking at the board you are likely going to need new ROM's and sockets and I would expect you have some trace damage too but it's hard tell from the pictures. The ROM's can be recreated using 27C010's if you have the appropriate programmer
BTW, I have made reproduction PCB's for this model (https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/reverse-engineering-the-macintosh-lc-logicboard.38495/) so if your board ends up being unrepairable there is always the option of replaceing the entire PCB 🙂 (You do need to be able to unsolder and resolder all the customs IC's though) |

Would these be what you need?... View attachment 36194 Thats the ones!
I was going to order some from the US but the ebay seller that has them didn't have the large lots in stock anymore, but it seems they have the lots of 40 back in stock so I might just order myself a batch from there
I have also ordered some 32mhz ones form RS but haven't had a chance to try one yet |
Posted by: mg.man on 2021-11-19 15:31:48 Well... I ordered 25... which are coming back with me next week. I don't need any, but figured it'd be worth bagging some and bringing them back... along with all the other goodies! 😀 I thought you might like to take them off my hands. 😎 |

@axmandm - let me know if you're still after one. |
Posted by: max1zzz on 2021-11-20 04:16:34 I can also confirm the LC dose seem to work with a 32mhz oscillator, I haven't done extensive testing but it at least boots with one installed.
These are the exact one I used: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crystal-oscillators/7960549 |
