2.5" SCSI Physical Dimensions?

Posted by: trag on 2021-10-20 15:49:17 I'm slowly progressing towards building a SCSI to mSATA adapter that would fit in the SCSI PowerBooks. To properly size/outline the PCB I need to know the dimensions of the SCSI drives used in PowerBooks. Did they all use the same arrangement of mounting screws -- standard on 2.5" SCSI? It looks like it's different from the screw placement on modern 2.5" IDE drives. Also, what height/thickness of drives were supported (had room for)? And finally, the SCSI cable connector? Pitch. Pins. If someone has an old datasheet for one of the SCSI hard drives, that would probably have the information I want on it. But I'd still need to know what thickness/height the different PowerBooks/Duos allowed for. BTW, no one hold their breath. I'm glacially slow, and this is more a fun excuse to design a few more circuit boards than a viable product.

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2021-10-20 16:41:25 GREAT project, quickie look at lunch: Pitch is the same, mounting more centered as pictured. I think this is a PB100 drive and it's 17mm with holes 1.5" o.c. and set back about 1 1/16" back from the front edge of the can. side to side it looks like 2.4" o.c. side to side. side mounts line up as shown.
