| Replacement ROMS for an LC520 |

I have an LC520 logic board that doesn't work, as in, machine will turn on but not bong, nor will the screen turn on. I'm wondering if replacing the ROMS would cure the problem. Does anyone know if ROMS from a similar machine like an LCIII or LC550 would work?

Did it get a recap first? Did you check traces?

Yeah as Macdrone said RECAP! Must be done before you start troubleshooting ROMS.. Personally I've not come across bad ROMS ever..

Caps replaced: yes;
Traces: no.
As I have lots of similar logic boards lying around, swapping ROMS is actually an easy thing to try before fiddling further with circuitry. I just don't want to fry anything.

550 ROMs would work, as it's basically identical to the 520 except for a slightly faster processor (33 MHz for the 550 vs. the 520's 25 MHz).
