I'm specifically looking for a program that will visually show each key as it is pressed so that I can verify keyboard repairs/restorations. I searched Macintosh Repository and Mac Garden, but I must not be using the right search terms.
I'm looking for an equivalent of this webpage, but for Apple keyboards:
https://keyboardchecker.com
Unfortunately, that page won't load on OSX 10.4.11's version of Safari - most likely because of SSL.
TIA,
Tom | Posted by: LaPorta on 2021-09-27 20:25:30 You are looking for System 7-OS 9 Key Caps in the Apple Menu, or in OS X go to the System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard, and select the option "Show keyboard and emoji viewers in menu bar." This will make a new menu item, which when clicked has an option "Show Keyboard Viewer." Same equivalent as the earlier Key Caps. | Posted by: Tom2112 on 2021-09-28 16:56:21 Unfortunately, that option isn't available in OSX 10.4.11, but it was good to go in OS 9.2.2!
Thank you, sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar! | Posted by: LaPorta on 2021-09-28 18:20:54 10.4.11 will certainly have the Keyboard Viewer; all versions of OS X have had it.
Glad that Key Caps in 9 worked for you! | | 1 |
