ZIP Drive Compatibility

Quick question, I know the zip drives that came with macs have the apple logo on them, are they mac specific? I am trying to figure out if I can use a regular zip drive in my mac, I want to buy an internal scsi zip but the only ones I can find seem to just be generic iomega affair? Does anyone know if it matters?

It doesn't matter, they're all the same SCSI/IDE etc.
