Easier way to mount .img and .dsk files on original hardware?
Posted by: hitherescotty on 2021-09-12 01:37:46 I have a Mac SE FDHD running 6.0.8 with 2MB of RAM. Could try to bump this to 4MB and move to 7.5.3+ if I must to achieve what I want. I now have a good sized collection of .dsk and .img images on my SCSI2SD. MountImage and DiskCopy and DiskDup+ don't seem to recognize them. I could write some of them to actual floppies on a modern machine using WinImage (which I have done for a few utils already) but others are not floppy images and significantly larger than 1.44mb. I have been searching the web high and low for ideas on how to mount these directly. I have seen a few suggestions: 1. Mount them with Basilisk II or Mini vMac, create a new archive, copy the archive to the SCSI2SD, unarchive on the Mac SE - tedious... 2. Change the file properties using something like TransMac (or MacDrive in my case) - didn't work for me at all 3. Playing around in Basilisk I had some very limited success using a program called "Virtual CD Autotyper" and "Virtual CD/DVD Rom Utility" but it really only barely worked for ~5% of files Is there a simpler way to just mount the img files directly?
