Posted by: Cloaked Alien on 2021-09-07 00:20:15I have a SE/30 with an AUI transceiver. Of course the thing pokes out from the back quite a bit (like 9 cm) and I'd like to be able to keep the machine closer to the wall behind it. I figure there has to be AUI extension cords or adapters I can use to fix this issue but they're not exactly all over the place.
At any rate I figure I should ask if anyone has any recommendation. Maybe I can use a standard DB15-cable and just do without the latches?
Or is it better do just deal with it and adapt the surroundings? ^^

AUI cables were common at one point. Early Ethernet ( 10BASE5 A.K.A. "thicknet" ) used a large transceiver that was many times installed in the ceiling and a AUI cable was used to bring the connection down to the computer.
