Mac SE30 help
Posted by: glay78 on 2021-08-20 04:15:13
Hi I’ve got an SE30 board that powers up to show this. Before and after recapping shows the same thing. No chime.
Any help? All recap capacitors traced are tested to be fine.

Check the memory, the SE/30 is very picky about its ram, some bad ram sticks will cause that pattern, this does not compute made a video fixing an SE/30 with this exact problem

And in case your recap did not include it, make sure that you thoroughly washed and dried the board. Opinion varies as to how to do this, but ultrasonic is best if you have access to it and water/alcohol is usually adequate to the task.

I have tried with ram and without, both gives the same results as well as washing the board.
I’ll be doing tracing from UE8 and the Glue Chip since I’ve googled and some help here.
Will update. Thank you for all the help.

Try buying different ram if those other two fixes don’t work. Keep us posted

This screen could also be a symptom of an issue reading the ROM - double check the ROM is clean and seated well.
