Did you run the firmware patch on a bootable and writable OS 9.2.2 partition?

I will try that, thanks! Nope, Sonnet firmware updater  3.2 run only under OS X.

Well Apple firmware updater for the MDD needs run on a writable OS 9.2.2 partition. Try an earlier version of OSX and make sure you have the older CPU installed while doing the firmware update.

Well it is Sonnet Firmware Update not Apple. For OS 10.4 there is version 3.1 and for 10.5 is 3.2 . So it must be 3.2 under OS 10.5. OS runs on 1.25 G4 from Apple.

My Giga Design firmware required me to update my cubes firmware to the newest apple firmware before their firmware could be used.  Might look at the pdf file and see if it mentions anything like that for yours.  Apples firmware required me to update firmware using OS 9.1 or later.
