3400c booting issue

Posted by: Syntho on 2021-07-13 20:56:35 I bought a 3400c and it's giving issues. When it boots, it won't get past a frozen white screen. Sometimes I see the cursor, sometimes I don't. I replaced the battery in it but that didn't help. I really have no idea what to do to diagnose it. Any thoughts on how to fix this up?

I'd do a power manager and PRAM reset How To Reset Macintosh PB Power Manager www.jacsoft.co.nz Also lifting the keyboard, checking for any corrosion, reseat the RAM (or pull completely try to boot see what happens) and CPU daughter card, clean connectors.

Posted by: Syntho on 2021-07-14 00:30:36 I get a chime, yeah. I've tried every trick you mentioned but I still get a frozen white screen, sometimes with a cursor, mostly without. Not sure what in the world is going on. I didn't see any corrosion either. Maybe I need to take a much closer look...
