| What about 68kmla.org prevents classilla from loading it? |
Posted by: jholt5638 on 2014-10-13 19:34:09 I know it involves SSL somehow but is it that the libraries that classilla links against don't understand the encryption being used? If it is is it possible to either backport the changes or build a more recent version of the SSL library and link against it or is there something in classilla that prevents from doing so easily? I have some basic C/C++ knowledge so I am going to try and dive into it, but in pointers would be helpful thanks

Posted by: CC_333 on 2014-10-13 20:25:53 I think there have been discussions about this, and it comes down to Classilla's implementation of SSL being too old.
With enough persistence, I'm sure Classilla could be improved to include a more recent SSL implementation, but I don't know how trivial it is (ClassicHasClass would know, but he no longer seems to partake in these forums).
I hope Clasilla gets modernized with this, as it would probably make it not only more useful, but more secure (not that anybody cares about those of us using OS 9, but whatever....)

Posted by: SuperToaster on 2014-10-16 11:11:03 personally I don't think you could buy a computer for a nickel. Unless its for free.

Posted by: avw on 2014-12-02 19:12:21 Everything is fine again with the latest Classilla 9.3.3. After a long periode without 68kmla I can use this forum again.

Posted by: techknight on 2014-12-03 17:05:03 yea, it renders the mobile version really well.

Posted by: CC_333 on 2014-12-05 11:56:59 Especially if you unblock javascript (otherwise, some things don't render quite right).
It's actually kind of ironic that an older Mac with OS 9 is more secure (in some ways) than a somewhat newer Mac running an unsupported version of OS X.
