I have been attempting to recall a type 3 duo battery, however I cannot find the right cells for sale anywhere in the US or Canada, has anyone recently restored one of these batteries and if so where did you find the cells for them

I'm going to follow this thread as well.  I'm keenly interested in what replacements you'll find for my Color Duos.

after some research on old 68k threads and the interwebs in general it seems the general consensus is that 2/3A and 4/5A cells are the correct ones for the type 3s, the 2/3s are slightly shorter and provide more room to work with, However I am still unsure of where to buy said cells

I managed to find these, however does anyone know if something like these would work within a duo?, I am by no means an electrical engineer so I can only guess but it seems they should work?

and these

not sure which would be better, if nobody chimes in soon I'll pull the trigger on the 4/5As and document the rebuild

Either should work electrically. These old laptops are pretty power hungry though, so the more capacity the better. It the 2100s will fit, I'd go that route. I'd see if I could find some with tabs though. E.g.,
