Then I noticed that the bottom left CRT holder is cracked and there's a screw visible, I opened the iMac and while I was opening it more and more beige plastic pieces started to fall out of the iMac. The bottom plastic case was a bit stuck, but at the end, the beige plastic had snapped and released the right part of the white bottom case. Also, the CRT doesn't fit perfectly with the front panel, there is a small space between the monitor glass and the plastic case.
This means I need a new beige CRT mount, I don't quite know how is it called officially.
Here's a picture of the part from one of the iMac disassembly videos because I don't have time to disassemble my iMac fully at the moment.

Could you please give me a tip where I could find this part?
| Posted by: Daniël on 2020-12-09 05:13:00 The inner beige frames on these "second gen" iMac G3s are made of the same terrible plastics most 90s beige Mac casings were made of. So ironically, the computers touted to not be beige, still had some of it hidden under its colorful facade. Anyways, I don't know if you can find just that piece. I fear that even if you do, the replacement you'd get would break during shipping as well.

Yeah, you're right, I don't think I'm going to buy another iMac for parts because it might get broken aswell, therefore I think I'll resort to searching local markets for a defective iMacs or maybe travel to Vienna or other places in Austria near the border with Slovakia. Do you happen to know by any change how was this part called officially?
| Posted by: pakra on 2021-02-12 17:02:48 I'm late to the topic (just registered here!) but I've always seen these described as the "inner crt bezel" - looking at the service manual seems to confirm this.
I would recommend looking at a 3d printed replacement since finding other old bezels would be just as brittle.
And besides, these are hidden underneath the color shell, so IMO it's not that big of a deal...

I haven't tried it myself but I would like to.

I've got a Flower Power iMac which I adore but the inside bezel is all broken up and I don't dare mess around with it until I get a new inner bezel. Now at least I have some options.
