Posted by: butterburger on 2016-03-16 14:25:10 It probably contains Ralink chipset. You might try to find something like "rtusb_d2870-4.1.8.0.dmg". You should post its USB IDs, which can be found in System Profiler (Product ID, Vendor ID, Version).

Posted by: Elfen on 2016-03-16 21:50:18 I have seen those for quite some time on ebay for the Raspberry Pi. Apparently, the OSes that are on the R-Pi is Plug & Play with these USB Wifi Adapters. I have 4 of them for the several the R-Pis I have and they load right up.
Question is, are they Plug & Play on OSX?

Like butterburger suggested, post the USB IDs and we'll find the drivers.

Posted by: Elfen on 2016-03-18 12:53:09 How did you obtain this information? Did you used the Ralink driver or this is without the driver? It is interesting that it look like it is about to work but to me looks like it is turned off.
I use the EnGenius USB Wifi adapter (EUB9603H) to connect to the "free community wifi" in my area, and it has an option to turn of and off the radio but even off, it is still detectable on the machine. It's connected to a G4 Powerbook.
BTW - JohnKlos, in owning those little USB Network adapters, putting them in to this powerbook with the EnGenius Adapter, it is almost want to work but something is missing.

Posted by: butterburger on 2016-03-18 23:40:40 rtusb_d2870-4.1.8.0.dmg was only a wild guess. You have a (supposed) MediaTek MT7601U. Good luck finding or writing a driver for that. If you intend to contact MediaTek, asking them for a OS X driver, then specify need for PowerPC, rather than a ICBM (Intel Chip Based Mac). RAW2019 did manage to find a driver for OS X 10.8.
