password generator, ideally for OS 9

Hey, random query:

Does anybody know of a random sequence generator that's mildly configurable and ideally drop-dead simple?

I'd like it to run on OS 9, but if it were carbon and also ran on X, I wouldn't mind that much. I'd rather not use a spreadsheet to do this, just for overhead reasons. (In particular, I'm looking for a tool to run on vtools to generate random 8-character passwords.)

Even more ideally, if you could copy/paste in/out of it that would be great.

I looked in OS9's keychain app and it doesn't have a password suggester, the way OS X's does.

I can admin vtools from an OS X machine, but I'm not always at a suitable one.

Thank you in advance!

I can write something really easy in HyperCard for you if you’re interested.

Yeah, how about the old Puzzle desk accessory.

Are you able to use MacPerl with vTools?  Or just Perl?  Years ago, I wrote Perl script that generated random 9-character passwords.
