| Posted by: compact-mac on 2023-01-02 08:18:57 Greetings,
Apologies for the bump but I'd also need some help with this. I'm replacing the ADB connector on a wedge mouse because the metal surrounding of the port has been dented. I purchased a replacement ADB connector head and chopped off the dented one.
According to this site we have four pins on the ADB connector: https://old.pinouts.ru/Slots/apple_adb_pinout.shtml
Inside the ADB wedge mouse cable I see four wires: Ground, Black, Blue, Red. Which colours correspond to which pin numbers? I've searched the interwebs but in vain.
Any help or links will be appreciated, thanks. | Posted by: joevt on 2023-01-02 23:23:48
Greetings,

Any help or links will be appreciated, thanks. Don't the Ground, Black, Blue, and Red wires exist on the dented ADB connector head or did you discard it before checking?
Do you have a second wedge mouse you can check?
I have one that says Family Number G5431 E89826T LR66731 | Posted by: compact-mac on 2023-01-05 12:49:03 I still have the damaged head but I cut it short. I can still see some of the colouring, so I might be able to find the pin numbers using a multimeter. (In hindsight I wish I had this plan before I chopped it).
I'll update the thread with my findings when I get around to it.
I don't have another wedge mouse, alas. But mine has the same family number of G5431. | Posted by: joevt on 2023-01-05 16:54:50 Let me know if you need me to take mine apart. | | 1 |
