| Irez Kritter Camera Software Needed | |

Given that I have more time on my hands these days I decided to break out my trusty old Powerbook 2400c and play around like it's 1997. Have owned it since new and it has travelled the world with me. I have an Irez Kritter cardbus camera for it but, must have misplaced the disks long ago. Does anyone know of a repository where the Irez cardbus camera software exists? Thanks!  | |

I had forgotten about all of the accessories I had for this laptop, I opened the bin this evening and realized where all of my money went in 1997. Have everything from the WetSuit 2.0 case to the 2400c Madisonline power adapters for car, plane and AC, , a spare 2400c docking station, Global Village Ethernet PCMCIA cards. Even found I had purchased a 2Gb Kingston PCMCIA Type II hard drive. I also upgraded the heck out of it as I used it for quite a few years. Have the rare 96Mb upgrade and NuPower G3 processor installed. Now I'm inspired to pull out all of my other Powerbooks. I think I have a Duo 2300c and PB 160 stashed away somewhere. Both I've owned since new and used the heck out of them back in the day. | |
| Posted by: mdeverhart on 2020-09-08 23:13:32 Here's a good thread on the 2400c and maintenance it might need, PRAM battery being the main one: Look out for leaking capacitors on the 2300c - the Duos have some electrolytic capacitors in the on-board power supply and battery charging circuit that have either leaked already or will soon. The conductive goo that leaks out can cause shorts, which on the Duo is particularly bad news - it can short the high voltage charging circuit (12V+) to the low voltage logic devices (5V), causing fatal damage. There are several threads around here on recapping Duos. There's also a good chance that you'll see issues with powering up the Duo due to the PRAM battery being dead; if so, the rear power button can usually jump start it even when the power button above the keyboard does not. I'd be very careful about plugging it in and trying to boot it before checking the capacitor situation. The 160 may also have capacitors that need to be replaced - I'm not very familiar with the 100 series PowerBooks. | |
