Hey, I feel like I should know the answer to this myself, but I don’t ... is there any way (maybe an extension?) to force the Finder (I’m running 7.5.5) to use a particular application to open a particular document?
Specifically: I have both Word 4 and Word 5 on my SE/30 HD. Word 5 because it’s awesome, Word 4 because it’s VERY fast to load. For one specific Word document, I want a double-click to launch Word 4. Failing that, I’d settle for ALL Word documents defaulting to Word 4 ... but the Finder always launches Word 5 on any double-click of any Word doc.
I am of course aware I can just drag the doc in question to a Word 4 alias, which is in fact what I do. I’m just being a perfectionist. It no doubt has to do with some arbitrary ordering of FREFs in the desktop database but I’m fairly certain someone would have created an INIT to address this at some point ...
Any ideas?
