| Nubus Ethernet Card Software |
Posted by: Phipli on 2020-07-17 02:20:11 Hey folks,
Does anybody have the software for this card? Or know where I might get it?
Possibly something like a CNET 460e?

Posted by: Phipli on 2020-07-17 02:37:09 Awesome - the following site showed me the right jumpersettings for RJ45 connections!

Posted by: Phipli on 2020-07-17 03:16:58 All sorted, don't mind me. It was just jumper settings.
I can now FTP files straight from my ARM SBC NAS to my 1988 Mac in 7.1 and don't have to faff with passing files down a chain of formats and computers 🙂
Excellent!

Posted by: Bolle on 2020-07-19 21:18:51 The card will work with the generic Apple ethernet drivers. I have several of those.
The 92C902 controller IC is register compatible to the DP83902 ST-NIC that's used on most ethernet Nubus cards of the day.

Have the same NuBus card but I didn't manage to make it works with RJ45 (twisted pair), even though I followed the documentation... Could kindly please share your jumpers settings?
Thanks. |

Thanks. Are you sure you have the software set up too? I'll dig out the card in the morning - shout at me if you forget. |
Posted by: macuserman on 2022-09-17 17:50:39 Is there a list somewhere of the the rj45 nubus ethernet card options? This is something I've been wanting to pickup but haven't been sure which ones to look for. |
Posted by: dany on 2022-09-18 01:28:25 I've reinstalled a fresh copy of Mac OS 7.6 with the ethernet option. I can get the MAC address of the card but the led D1 is off, according to the doc: "Twisted pair network connection is broken". I'll give a try again to the jumpers! |
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2022-09-18 03:17:07 Probably something you've already considered, but you've checked the cable, and specifically that the context you're using this in doesn't require a crossover? |
Posted by: Phipli on 2022-09-18 03:44:11 Hey @dany my jumper settings are...
Where D[own], U[p]
JP1 : U
JP2 : D
JP3 to JP10 : DDUUUUUUUU

With these settings, my card works fine. Note there can be all sorts of issues getting old machines on networks. Various speed negotiation and DHCP issues etc. Its a read the whole internet if you're having issues thing. |
Posted by: dany on 2022-09-18 05:49:29 Thank you very much Phipli! It works fine finally with this configuration of jumpers, the Mac IIci is now up and running. My mistake was to set all jumpers JP3-JP10 down.
Thanks for your help and greetings from Switzerland 🙂 |

Strage, the instructions seemed to say JP5 to JP10 didn't matter. I'd just left them where they were - mine arrived set to coax.
Greetings from the UK 🙂 |
