Classic Analog Board Voltage Testing
Posted by: JustG on 2020-06-07 08:17:42
Hey everyone,

I'm having some odd issues with a Classic that I recently recapped the logic board.  I have a sneaking suspicion that the analog is outputting incorrect voltages and I'll need to replace capacitors there too.  I'd like to test it first.  Can I safely apply power to the board with it disconnected from the CRT and logic board?

Is there a pinout of one of the two connectors (hard drive or logic board) for voltages?

Thanks!

G

Yes! A pinout for the hard drive port is available on pages 162-163 of http://www.maccaps.com/MacCaps/Repair_books_files/Mac Classic %26 SE Repair and Upgrade Secrets.pdf, and for the internal logic board connector at https://old.pinouts.ru/Power/macclassicpower_pinout.shtml (although I'm not sure how each pin is numbered, though, I think they start at 1 on the bottom left with the plastic "clip" on the top, and go counter-clockwise?)
