Hello there, Mr. Macintosh.

So, does it turn on?  😀

Posted by: OldMacGuy on 2020-05-30 16:57:08
It starts, but I need some help with the disk and/or Twiggy drive.

Good grief, that is a gorgeous unit you have there. That 5.25” diskette opening looks totally badass on Mac.

If you don’t mind us asking, how did you acquire this amazing machine? Either way, congratulations!

Can’t assist you with the drive, as I know nothing about Twiggys, but good luck with it!

So awesome - loving that 'insert disk' icon. Best of luck with the drive and experiencing the contents of that disk. Perhaps some Lisa fans can help you out with the drive.

@OldMacGuy  I would recommend getting in touch with CuriousMarc:

https://www.curiousmarc.com/

I bet he would absolutely be interested in getting that machine going.  He's local here to the Bay Area in California, but has friends in high places at the Computer History Museum and actual Apple engineers who worked on the original Macintosh team.

Oh man, that is really nice.

Amazing find! I hope you post more details about it soon, including some more photos!  🙂

Where’d you get that?

Is this one of the two known Twiggy Macs or a newly discovered third one? Looks incredible!

Indeed, it’s a third Twiggy Mac.

I’ll post more photos and video when I get home later today, but here’s a few more for now:

Very nice 🙂 I must admit I’m jealous. I’d love to reverse engineer that thing  :rambo:

This looks like one of those deals where OldMacGuy disappears and this thread disappears and its all best if no one asks any more questions.

Bonus points if the Knights Templar get involved somehow, and a plucky forum member and their comic sidekick go on a quest to find them...

Seriously though, this is really, really cool to see.

"A Bit Of A Rarity"

Talk about being a master of understatement

If you ever decide to part with the machine make sure to get in touch with the King of Prototypes, @haplain

Or the Computer History Museum! I bet they'd love to display one of these.

I tracked down the date and some more information about this model based on the written ROM 2.45 label. Persons interested in knowing more about what I uncovered are welcome to email me. You'll find my address in my sigature below (when you are logged in).
