| Lisa Error 45 |
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2020-05-17 15:28:02 Was trying to get some code running on my Lisa and got this:

Anyone know what it means? Is there a document with a list of these somewhere? I googled a bit but obviously missed the keyword.

Looks like a Bus error (not entirely sure what that entails, but maybe a poke around the Lisa boot ROM source would get you somewhere?)

Posted by: sunder on 2020-05-17 17:18:41 Bus error means you tried to access memory that does not exist or belong to you or the MMU hasn't mapped. It's equivalent to the unix segfault.

Here's a link to the table of startup error codes You can tell it was late at night, can't you. I really have no excuse for not looking at the FAQ...
Bus error means you tried to access memory that does not exist That would make sense. There's a pointer in this code where I'm not sure where it ought to be initialised (I don't think anyone has tried to get this building for a very long time, partly because there seems to be a critical file missing from the source tree and nobody's noticed, so a little reconstruction is being required)
