Floppy disks and disk drives strange behaviour
Posted by: toples50 on 2020-03-27 09:16:09
I have tried my original Photoshop 2 disks to my Classic II and LC475 and suddenly neither of two internal disk drives reads any disk...(before both machines read/write normally all the disks)

Is it possible a disk to destroy the disk drives?

If there is physical contamination of the disk surface with something abrasive, then yes, absolutely it is possible to destroy the heads.

Disks are from original Photoshop 2.0...

Can I repair the drives or not?

Look the surface of the disk where the head rest, if there is a scratch or groove, the disk can be tossed and you can say farewell to it.

If not, clean the disk drive head, very often they are contaminated with an old disk, and black deposit can be found on the surface.

try again
