Apple DOS Compatibility Card
Posted by: mhoney on 2020-03-14 17:05:59
I have a Performa 640CD with the 486/66 DOS Compatibility card but have no documentation.   Would any of you know where I might find a PDF of the manual?  Having trouble figuring out some of the key combinations.

A good place to start for such things these days is the excellent website https://vintageapple.org

I'm in need of a little more help... I have tcp/ip networking very close to working in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (Using the DOS Compatibility card) using the macndis driver from the PC Setup 1.6.4 but am stuck.  I can successfully get an IP address, default route and dns from my DHCP server, and can ping the local address I get from DHCP but can't ping anywhere else on the LAN, not even the default gateway which is my router.  I have TCP/IP turned off on the Mac side using administration mode of the TCP/IP control panel applet (Open Transport 1.1.2) so I don't think the Mac is getting in the way of networking.  In fact, until I turned that off I couldn't get an IP from DHCP.

Anyone have any tips?  This is a System 7.5.3 setup btw.

** fixed - not sure yet how I fixed it, but if I figure out what exactly I changed to get it working I will edit this.
