Mac Plus - analog board heat / temperatures
Posted by: joshc on 2020-03-14 11:11:11
How hot is the analog board meant to get?

I had my Mac on for an hour or so, maybe 2 hours, and afterwards I could certainly feel the heat if I touched the top/side of the case on the analog board side. I know the fanless compact Macs do run on the hot side, but is it normal for it to warm up so much after only a few hours?

I have only replaced the C1 capacitor and the filter caps (the ones that frequently blow out), everything else is left as I found it - would a complete recap of the board reduce the temperatures or does most of the heat come from other components?

The analog board side of a Plus case will definitely feel warm after an hour or so in my experience, yes.
