| Macintosh Plus Startup Issues |

Hello everyone. New Mac owner and first-time poster here. I recently bought a Macintosh Plus at a thrift shop and am having trouble getting it to boot from disk. I ordered a System 6.0.8 single 800K startup disk online. When I turn the computer on and insert the disk I get a happy mac and then the welcome to Macintosh screen shows up but this is as far as it gets. It freezes on this screen. Is it more likely that this is a hardware issue or is it probably an issue with the disk? Thanks in advance.

Probably a problem with your disk. Next time, ask here on this 68kmla site if someone can send you a disk. That's what we're here for. 🙂
If you send me an email (my address is below) I will send you a couple boot disks for your Plus.

It's probably worth looking at the drive. All the (former) lubricants are probably now more like glue.

Yes i agree, head probably dirty and drive needing servicing.Â
