Color classic crt pots problem
Posted by: Dan68040 on 2020-02-24 11:10:09 I am restoring a Mac color classic. I recapped the logic and analog boards and the Mac is now booting and operating like new, but I have no response from mostly all the pots for horizontal screen adjustment. HW / horizontal width PB / pin barrow KS / keystone HS / horizontal shift they are all somewhere related as they affect the horizontal adjustments. I cleaned the pots, and they are turning easily as they should. I double checked the caps, traces and tested the contacts, and everything seem to be normal. is there a specific area I should focus on On the board? Also the board at the back of the crt seems normal, no loose soldering... anyone with something to suggest, I would appreciate.
Posted by: DrJosh9000 on 2024-06-24 17:02:58 Hi, I realise this topic is from forever ago but I just did an analog board recap and hit a similar issue where PB, KS (probably others) stopped having any effect. I fixed it though! After I double-checked that the pots themselves were still good, I realised the problem was probably one of the caps I had replaced, so I put the original CL21 back in and it was all fixed!
