The card isn't dependent on any feature of the processor, so yes, it'll work.

Thank you for your answer,
you think the combo ones with firewire will run well ?

I don't see why not. I supported lots of ABVBs back in the day and installed many USB / Firewire combo cards in them. They were running 8.6 as well.

I saw some posts people complain the firewire not running well (DLX180).
you dont see issues with os9.2.2 recognize the firewire controller ?

I have my G3 using a Actiontec (I think thats the right name) FW400 card, on 9.2.2 AND OS X, and it works great. I dont see WHY the card wouldn't, and as said, I dont think it depends on the processor, just the OS. If you end up buying something and it doesn't work, sell it on here! Or keep it, you never know...

I'm using an Adaptec DuoConnect AUA-3020 in a 7600, with three USB ports (the card is 2.0 but limited to 1.1 in OS 8/9) and two FW400 ports.  With the right extensions it works great in 8.6 and above, and in 8.1 mice and keyboards work but USB storage devices do not.  In these old PCI Power Macs, though, you can't boot from FireWire, but that is a hardware limitation on the Mac.
