| GOTEK Floppy Emulators in Classic Macs? |
Posted by: Tom2112 on 2020-02-13 18:10:12 I did some searching, but didn't get much finding... So does anyone have experience with the GOTEK Floppy Emulators and the spiffy FlashFloppy firmware for them?
GOTEK:

I just purchased one (not delivered yet), but I'm interested to see if I can use it with my Mac SE FDHD. My search results included some comments about the GOTEK, but I couldn't tell if they were talking about Mac use or some other retro-computer. So, if you know anything about using one with a Mac, I'd be interested to hear about it.
Thanks,
Tom

The Mac equivalent would be the FloppyEmu, https://www.bigmessowires.com/floppy-emu/

That's OK. It'll be a useful tool in my retro-computing toolbox, just not for my Mac SE.

Once I've saved up some money in my vintage computing fund, I ought to get one!

Posted by: Gorgonops on 2020-02-14 11:17:10 I have Goteks with FlashFloppy installed in a couple Tandy 1000s and they do a great job, pretty much zero complaints. I do *highly* recommend the OLED Display Mod, it's literally plug-and-play outside of having to hack a larger hole in the case.

Posted by: Tom2112 on 2020-02-14 14:09:27 I kinda wish they would just integrate the display mod, the speaker mod, and the encoder mod into a new model and sell it complete. But for $30, one can hardly argue with the results.
